About Us
First Step Dance & Art's owner, Mr. Phen Wooi Meng (ARAD, TCE, AISTD, AISTD Diploma and LISTD) started his ballet lessons at his age of seven. In 1995, he was one of the representative dancers to the International Dance Festival at Beijing. In order to pursue his interest and gain more experience in ballet dancing, in 1997 he went to Jean Madam Wong Ballet School in Hong Kong, 1998 at Singapore Ballet School and 2002 at Imperial Ballet London for his Licentiate. To date, he has gained more than 18 years of experience in teaching ballet. Aside from teaching, he also coaches teachers on the RAD and ISTD syllabus. Our team have been molding and training children from Pre-Primary, aged 3 years above up to Advance stage in the past 18 years. Classes are conducted in Akademi Seni Tarian (Sri Rampai), First Step Dance & Art(Prima Setapak), Clubs (Bandar Sri Damansara) and Schools. To date, we have more than 500 students.
In 2006, First Step Dance & Art was established as dancewear and footwear business. Today, we are one of the most famous names in both the retail and wholesale dancewear and footwear business.
